Low Cost Lamination

It is possible to laminate a flier, cardstock version is recommended, for installation in a household or rental property, for instance near the kitchen sink.

Use clear packing tape, or for a small additional cost, a more waterproof lamination can be acheived with 'poly tape', a vinyl product that is durable and quite useful for other things, like repairing hose.

Step One

Trim the bottom of the flier - now three layers of tape wrapped horizontally will fully cover the flier and leave a little bit at top and bottom to create a good seal. Overlap the layers a little bit to create a good seal. Horizontally is better because that is the way text runs and will hide the joints.

I found that running the tape across the front, folding the extra bit to the back and then winding the tape to the back, and covering the back with enough to overlap that extra bit - this seemed to be the easiest way to get a nice looking result that fully encapsulates the flier. Scissors cut the tape pretty well, but better would be a sharp blade like a single edge razorblade.
